NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: NHK Capital opens BTR community in Texas. NHK Capital has officially opened Wolf Creek Farms, a BTR residential community in Melissa, Texas. Principal Noreen Hogan emphasized NHK’s commitment to co-investing alongside its investors. The project marks NHK’s ninth offering since its 2019 founding. The Hogan Family–backed firm has raised over $160 million for investments across BTR, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, and office sectors.
DEVELOPMENT: Tricon and HHS complete BTR project in Texas. Tricon Residential and HHS Residential have finished construction on a 100-unit BTR community in Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The project features three- and four-bedroom homes with two-car garages and private backyards. Community amenities include a dog park and multiple outdoor recreational areas. Starting rents were not disclosed.

PEOPLE MOVES: Core Spaces names new Managing Director. Core Spaces has appointed Juan Sebastian Agudelo as Managing Director of Institutional Capital Raising to lead engagement with global institutional investors. Core CIO John Wieker said Agudelo’s capital markets expertise will be key to the firm’s growth.

FINANCING: Capital Square launches DST offering for Miami BTR. Capital Square has launched CS1031 The Villages at Miami Gardens BFR Housing, DST—a 50-unit BTR community in Miami Gardens, FL—targeting accredited investors with a $50K minimum. The DST carries 54% leverage, appealing to Section 1031 exchange investors. Louis Rogers and Whitson Huffman, Capital Square’s co-CEOs, highlighted the limited supply of BTR townhomes in the area and its strong location near major employers like Baptist Health and the University of Miami. Walker & Dunlop’s Andrew Tapley arranged the financing.
