ACQUISITION: Four Corners Development Group acquires 157 homes. Jason Wisotsky announced that Four Corners Development Group has added 157 homes to its BTR portfolio through the acquisition of Cottages at Morganfield in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He credited Drew Garza, Chris Shaheen, and Will Balthrope of Institutional Property Advisors for working on the transaction, Carter King of Newmark for handling the financing, and Ike Marvet, Zev Lefkowitz, and the team at World Wide Land Transfer for helping bring the deal to a smooth closing.

DEVELOPMENT: CBI Construction breaks ground on 250-home community. CBI Construction has officially broken ground on a 250-home cottage-style community in St. Augustine, Florida, called The Cottages at Rolling Hills. The company said it is developing the project with Third Lake Development and is already seeing strong early progress, with site clearing complete, mass grading underway, and utility work beginning. Senior Superintendent Ryan Jonyka said the team has built solid momentum on the ground and credited JD Weber for helping get the project moving.

DEVELOPMENT: BBL completes 72-unit community in Texas. BBL Building Co. has completed Parkwood Oaks Townhomes in Bedford, Texas, delivering a new 72-unit townhome community. The project includes two-story homes with a mix of two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath floor plans ranging from 1,300 to 1,353 square feet and three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath layouts ranging from 1,417 to 1,450 square feet. Each home features a two-car garage, walk-in closets, and in-unit washers and dryers.

AWARD: Jim Chapman Construction Group ranks No. 79 on 2026 “Builder 100” list. Jim Chapman Construction Group has been ranked No. 79 on the 2026 Builder 100 list, reflecting its continued growth as a major player in the BTR sector. The company completed 708 homes and delivered 1,040 lots in 2025 across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Indiana, and it is projecting 1,150 completions in 2026 and 1,450 in 2027. Chris Mancuso, president of Jim Chapman Construction Group, said the firm remains focused on scaling strategically in strong markets, while CEO Jim Chapman said the recognition reflects both strong demand and the team’s ability to deliver quality BTR housing at scale.
