NEWS ROUNDUP

FINANCING: Walker & Dunlop arranges $96.7 million recapitalization. Walker & Dunlop arranged $96.7 million in refinancing to recapitalize three newly built Class A apartment communities in Louisville, Kentucky, totaling 640 units, on behalf of Highgates Group. Jonathan Zilber, Joel Chetner, and Josh Geller secured three floating-rate, interest-only loans from an institutional lender, with proceeds set to repay existing debt, cover closing costs, and return capital to investors. Joseph Waldman of Highgates Group said Walker & Dunlop helped structure a solution that took advantage of available market liquidity.

DEVELOPMENT: NHK Capital opens 109-unit BTR in Texas. NHK Capital Partners has opened Soltera Rolling Pines, a 109-unit BTR community in Conroe, Texas, with a total development cost of $27.8 million. Excelsior Partners served as development partner, HS Development was the contractor, and Portico Property Management will manage the property.

DEVELOPMENT: Chapco to build amenities at Georgia BTR. Chapco Design Build has been selected by Mandrake Capital Partners to build the amenity package at Wren’s Hollow, a new BTR townhome community in Pooler, Georgia. Jay Kiger, president of Chapco Design Build, said the company is focused on delivering durable, high-quality amenities that add value to residents’ daily lives, while Edward Oprindick of Mandrake Capital Partners said Chapco has played an important role in helping bring the project’s vision to life.

PEOPLE MOVES: Trilogy Investment names new EVP of Accounting. Trilogy Investment has appointed Erin Taylor as executive vice president of accounting, where she will oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls across the firm’s real estate investment platform. Jason Joseph, CEO and managing partner of Trilogy, said Taylor’s accounting leadership and experience with complex transactions will support the firm’s growth, while Taylor said she is joining the company at an important stage in its evolution.
