DEVELOPMENT: Mandrake delivers amenities at 215-home BTR in Georgia. Mandrake Capital Partners has completed the amenity package at its 215-home build-to-rent community in Pooler, GA, a suburb of Savannah, as the property moves toward stabilization. Amenities include a large swimming pool, grilling stations, a fire pit and a fitness center. Joseph O'Connor of Mandrake Capital Partners said delivering the amenities improves the resident experience, and that the community was designed around what today's renters want: functional homes, quality amenities and easy access to everything they need.

DEVELOPMENT: Center Park and Widewaters begin vertical construction on 187-townhome BTR near Charlotte. Center Park Group has started vertical construction on a 187-home build-to-rent townhome community in Iredell County, NC, with The Widewaters Group as developer and Center Park as general contractor. The two- and three-story townhomes will have three or four bedrooms and a one- or two-car garage, ranging from 1,549 to 2,062 square feet, and residents will share a clubhouse, resort-style pool, dog park and spa. Jason Esposito, CEO of Center Park Group, said renters are looking for more space, privacy and the feel of a home without giving up the flexibility of renting. Eric Candee, VP of development and construction at Widewaters, said Center Park's experience was a key reason for the partnership.

DEVELOPMENT: Laseter hired as GC for 146-townhome BTR in Georgia. Laseter Contracting Group, part of Laseter Development Group, has been hired as general contractor for 146 build-to-rent townhomes in Stockbridge, GA, south of Atlanta, and vertical construction is underway. The three- and four-bedroom townhomes will range from 1,327 to 1,655 square feet. Forestar Group completed the horizontal site work and the community's amenities. Laseter said the project reflects its continued growth as a third-party general contractor for BTR developers.

DEVELOPMENT: Third Lake and CBI celebrate opening of 258-home BTR in Florida. Third Lake Development and general contractor CBI Construction have held a ribbon cutting for a 258-home build-to-rent community of cottage-style rental homes in Palmetto, FL, south of Tampa, as construction continues toward full completion. Greystar is the property manager, and the project team also included BSB Design, WRA Engineering and UES. Hill Cater, project manager at CBI, said a complex project like this depends on strong communication and trust between the general contractor and the developer, and credited Third Lake and Greystar's property management team.
