NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: BBL completes 315-home BTR near Tampa. BBL has completed construction of a 315-home build-to-rent community on 40 acres in San Antonio, FL, in the northern Tampa Bay region, for developer Advenir Azora. The roughly $93.5M project includes standalone cottages, duplexes and townhomes with one to three bedrooms, ranging from about 728 to 1,510 square feet, and was designed by Nequette Architecture & Design. Amenities include a clubhouse, resort-size pool, freestanding fitness center and direct bike trail access to the neighboring Mirada Lagoon master-planned community.

DEVELOPMENT: BBL completes 261-home BTR near Houston. BBL has completed construction of a 261-home build-to-rent community in Spring, TX, north of Houston, for developer Urban Moment. Amenities include a resort-style pool, outdoor kitchens, fire pits and dog parks. BBL handled the project from construction through final turnover. Urban Moment develops BTR communities across Texas under its YardHomes brand.

ACQUISITION: Quinn closes on 210-townhome BTR near Charlotte. Quinn Residences has closed on a planned 210-home build-to-rent community in Mooresville, NC, a Lake Norman suburb north of Charlotte. The townhomes will have two-car garages and fenced yards, and residents will share a pool and cabana, pickleball courts, a dog park and walking trails. Chappell Maddux, vice president of acquisitions at Quinn Residences, said the firm was glad to get the deal closed and the project underway in what remains a difficult acquisition environment.

PEOPLE MOVES: John Burns Research hires Jay Denton as SVP of rental research. John Burns Research and Consulting has hired Jay Denton as senior vice president, rental research. Denton will lead the firm's market research and intelligence across multifamily, build-to-rent and scattered-site single-family rental housing. He said he looks forward to helping clients make sense of a changing rental housing market.
